These amazing extreme macro photos of insects were taken by local Lake MacQuarie photographer Serene Escape Photography.
Red Bull Ant is slightly pissed off by the paparazzi. They have been following him around all day, he just wants to go to the supermarket in his tracky dacks to binge eat on some Tim Tams, like a normal ant. He ponders, this is what it feels like to be a famous celebrity, was it worth it?
Senior fly oozes pomposity, pondering his next meal of excrement. He doesn’t just feed on any faecal matter, his tastes are more discerning. He won’t even sniff s%&t unless it’s organic grain feed gluten free and flown in from somewhere exotic, like France or Chile, and ALWAYS with some fermented grape product, like a nice chianti.
Orange Moth is good looking and she knows it. But it’s hard keeping up appearance and always being so intense. She really liked Mr Moth, but pushed him away because she was afraid to get close to someone.
Quote from Serene Escape Facebook page:
I am a very passionate person in everything I do and it brings me great joy to be able to share my vision with the world. There are so many hidden secrets in the world that people dont always get to see but I can make them feel as if they were there to experience the worlds beauty themselves just through a single image. I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy creating it. Image source: Serene Escape
Mr Moth is jaded after being friend-zoned by Orange Moth, back to Moth Tinder for him. He thinks I could be the one to set you free. At least he still has his lifelong quest, to try and find out what that shiny bright object is and how to get to it.
Red Winded Stick Insect can’t stop the tiny thoughts of descent inside his head. He just watched District 9, and could relate with the lead character, yet he is all out of catfood. And so very hungry.
Wolf Spider is sad, weighed down with thoughts of self harm. She sits alone on Friday night, watching the TV series Banshee, which she thoroughly enjoys. All the time, her smart phone is next to her, constantly rechecking her Facebook and Instagram feeds every 5 minutes, craving human connection. She thinks to herself, “Everyone’s connected, but no one is connecting, the human element has long been missing”. Have you seen it?
